Desiree S. Lee

Desiree S. Lee is an accomplished dancer who has been able to use her God-given talent to teach and mentor children, adults, and minister to the masses through her ministry of dance. She began dancing professionally with Shona Sharif’s African Dance Ensemble in 1992 (Pittsburgh, PA).

She was the principal dancer in many of the Ensemble’s productions – African Fables, Swing Low Sweet in Mornin, and Black Nativity (in which she had the lead role for two years). She also served as the lead dance instructor for the Ensemble from 2000-2001. During her nine years with the Ensemble, Desiree honed and crafted her skill of dance.

Further studies consist of a dance apprentice with the Kankouran West African Dance Company (Washington, DC) performing as a guest artist during their 2000 concert performance, and travels abroad to Senegal, West Africa to participate in African Dance workshops.

Desiree is a Certified Comprehensive Pilates Instructor through Harmony's Pilates Studio Teacher Training Program. In 2019, she began her apprentice program at Dragonfly Pilates (Pittsburgh, PA) and receives ongoing mentorship from Misty Lynne Cauthen through the Balanced Body Community Expansion Program.

Desiree currently teaches private clients and classes in Jacksonville, Florida at the Body Balance Institute, PGA Golf Headquarters and virtually classes through Dragonfly Pilates.

Desiree resides in Jacksonville, Florida with her husband Andrew Lee.
